About Terry Samokar
Terry Samokar lives in Noank, CT and teaches fourth grade at Ledyard Center School in Ledyard, CT. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from Eastern Connecticut State University and continued her education at Sacred Heart University receiving a Master’s Degree in Education and a Sixth Year Degree in Administration. She is currently in her 29th year of teaching.
Terry has been involved in many outreach programs. In 2007 she was the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship where she traveled to Japan to gain a better understanding of Japanese culture, schools and communities. She has also been involved with the Special Olympics for the past 42 years. Along with her colleague, Carol Ambrosch (also an MSE Fellow), she played a key role in researching and fundraising for the restoration of the one-room schoolhouse that sits on the Ledyard Center School property.
Terry is honored to be working with the MSE team. She has always enjoyed working with the community, especially when it involves creating connections that will strengthen its assets.
