Cane with Eagle Head Carving

Cane bone shaft, copper alloy ferrule, and ivory handle carved in the shape of an elongated eagle's head. Ivory handle base carved to look like a shirt collar with smooth surface, split at front. Elongated eagle's head has carved and incised detail for feathers. Brown and black glass eye mounted on each side of head. Beak is open with carved tongue and notches on beak top for "nostrils". Octagonal bone shaft has eight flat sides and is made from two segments of bone with seam 1/3 of length from top of shaft. Upper segment of ferrule is a silver/gray-colored metal with pairs of incised lines around tip, midpoint, and bottom of ferrule segment. Bottom tip segment of ferrule is iron alloy.
