Research Project

After identifying the the message of this poster, students research and report on other types of propaganda posters.  A resource for viewing other posters can be found at the US Holocaust Memorial Museum website.

Common Core State Standards Connections

Reading for Information, Grades 6-12

Standard 7 – Integrate information presented in different media or formats (e.g. visually, quantitatively) as well as in words to develop a coherent understanding of a topic or issue.

Writing, Grades 6-12

Standard 7 – Conduct short research projects to answer a question, drawing on several sources and refocusing the inquiry when appropriate.

Art Project

Students study current events (on a national or international level), and design propaganda posters relevant to those events.

Current Events Project

Students research current events, and identify if propaganda posters are being used in those events.  Students should identify who is using them, where they are being used, and what the message being conveyed is.
