Tintype; oversize; portrait of New London whaling master Sidney O. Buddington. He commanded the bark George Henry of New London in 1860. He was a nephew of James M. Buddington and cousin of James W. Buddington. George Henry was a bark, built 1841 at Waldoboro, Maine, 307 tons, 105' x 25' x 12.9'. It was lost in 1863 in Hudson Bay.
