About Bethany Bonner
Bethany Bonner teaches art at Oakdale Elementary School in Montville, CT, where she works with Pre-K through 5th grade. As an artist and art teacher, she is always looking for ways to expand her learning in order to expand the learning opportunities of her students.
Bethany lives in Quaker Hill, CT. She has a BFA from Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, an MFA from Vermont College of Art and Design and additional Education course work at UConn. Teaching art helps her to focus on the process of creating and creating art helps her to focus on the process of teaching art. She believes they go hand in hand. She began teaching many years ago because someone asked me how to draw a house that they had grown up in. Since then, Bethany has taught at every age and grade level, from college art courses to elementary and pre-K and she still finds it fun, challenging and rewarding. She has had numerous art exhibits and has been an artist member in a variety of different galleries and arts organizations. She learned to row (in a scull) a few years ago and I now spends her spare time rowing and learning more about rowing with the Noank Rowing Club.
