About Emily Russell
Emily Russell is a teacher at the Morgan School in Clinton, Connecticut. After graduating from Connecticut College with a BA in History as well as her CT teaching certificate in Social Studies in 2013, she spent a year as an English and Social Studies tutor at Simsbury High School and taught World History part-time. Now, she is thrilled to begin teaching 9th grade U.S. History.
She had a wonderful time participating in the 2014 summer session of Mystic Seaport for Educators and working with the manuscripts and artifacts at the museum. She hopes to find more ways to be involved with the Mystic Seaport community and to use its valuable resources as her teaching career continues!
Emily is a life-long resident of Connecticut and grew up in West Hartford. Her passion for teaching began in college after volunteering in classrooms and taking education classes, including one that took her all the way to Havana, Cuba! Emily became interested in museum education after interning at the Connecticut Historical Society. She loves any opportunity to visit a museum or historic site.
