Point of View Writing Assignment

Millie describes the roles of many different people on the whaling ship.  Choose someone who would have gone on the whale hunt (for example, the 2nd mate, the 3rd mate, the harpooner, the boatsteerer), and write down an account of what could have happened on a whalehunt from your point of view.

Timeline Project

Using the Charles W. Morgan Financial Stats PDF in the sidebar, track the fluctuating price of both whale oil and whale bone.  Then, create a timeline, tracking the trends in pricing, and matching them to any other historical or cultural events that were occurring worldwide.
